Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of mechanical design engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with motion control components such as belts, pulleys, gear ratios, linear guides, bearings, and servo systems.
• Experience designing equipment for manufacturing or industrial automation applications.
• FEA and project leadership experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mechanical products from concept through production.
• Engineer conveyor systems, linear motion products, and automation components.
• Select and size components including conveyors, pulleys, belts, actuators, servo motors, and motion control systems.
• Perform calculations related to speed ratios, load capacity, power transmission, and mechanical performance.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of material.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and product management to bring new products to market.
• Evaluate existing products and recommend design improvements for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Support product testing, validation, and technical documentation.

An established manufacturer is expanding its engineering team due to continued growth and new product development. This is a hands-on design role focused on developing new mechanical products and expanding the company's automation product offerings.

The ideal candidate has experience designing conveyor systems, linear motion products, actuators, or automation equipment. This is an opportunity to help shape the future direction of the engineering team while working on highly engineered products from concept through production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop new mechanical products from concept through production
• Engineer conveyor systems, linear motion products, and automation components
• Select and size components including conveyors, pulleys, belts, actuators, servo motors, and motion control systems
• Perform calculations related to speed ratios, load capacity, power transmission, and mechanical performance
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of material
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and product management to bring new products to market
• Evaluate existing products and recommend design improvements for performance, manufacturability, and cost

REQUIREMENTS
