Job summary

Eleven Recruiting is seeking a Design Engineer to prepare detailed drawings and plans for mechanical or electrical components. You will use CAD software to create, modify, and verify designs, and support manufacturing with ECO-driven updates.

Required are strong drafting skills, knowledge of blueprints, and experience in a technical/manufacturing environment. This role entails cost estimating and collaboration with engineers on complex projects.

Qualifications

• College level education highly desirable with specialized instruction in drafting principles/techniques.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Four years related experience in technical, manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical drafting work.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of CAD equipment and MIL-STD drawings.
• Knowledge of project management techniques.
• Knowledge of estimating methods
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
• Ability to take calculated risks based on sound judgment.
• Ability to conduct major research projects.
• Ability to create and apply complex equipment.
• Ability to establish procedures.
• Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares working plans, detailed drawings, and complete mechanical or electrical drawings of components and assemblies.
• Utilizes knowledge of machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Makes adjustments or changes per ECOs.
• Draws charts for presentations of data and draws finished designs from sketches.
• Uses CAD equipment and software.
• Writes specifications and prepares design releases to manufacturing.
• Verifies completed work and checks dimensions and materials.
• Assists engineers in development of complex drawings.
• Prepares product cost estimates.
