Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks an experienced commissioning professional to lead all phases of commissioning for data centers and critical facilities. You will plan, test, document, and optimize MEP systems, interface with clients, and train on-site staff.

Extensive travel, including domestic and possible international assignments, is expected. Minimum of 10 years in engineering service delivery with emphasis on MEP, data centers preferred; a mechanical engineering degree is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong documentation skills.
• High proficiency in technical writing and systems documentation.
• Experience with Word, Excel and AutoCAD for project deliverables.
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, controls design, installation and operation.
• Proven ability to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in commissioning projects through planning, scheduling, and coordination.
• Perform design reviews, prepare scripts and reports; direct client-site testing and staff training.
• Prepare start-up procedures, SOPs and MOPs; compile commissioning documentation.
• Create commissioning test procedures and reports; manage logs and checklists.
• Develop reports with recommendations to optimize building operations and maintenance manuals.
• Review design criteria, specs, drawings and submittals related to commissioning.
• Lead commissioning meetings and interface with contractors, vendors, and testers.
• Lead on-site testing, analyze results and compile testing data.
• Oversee integrated system testing and load bank testing.
• Develop and conduct functional tests for HVAC, pumps, chillers, UPS, and power distribution.
• Assist in leading resources on site as the lead electrical commissioning professional.
• Plan and monitor all commissioning services for new and existing buildings.
