Senior Mechanical BIM Designer (EB-1428130774)

This position is a Senior BIM designer role with supervisory and management responsibilities. The role requires proficiency in detailed design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure, along with an advanced understanding of 3D design concepts and technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate drawing production across multiple disciplines.
• Assist in manpower scheduling for mechanical BIM projects.
• Layout and route piping systems, including pipe spacing, fittings, valves, and in-line components.
• Apply industry standards such as AWWA and ANSI B16 in piping design.
• Understand structural design and its interface with mechanical components.
• Design HVAC ductwork and mechanical equipment layouts from sketches and catalog sheets.
• Apply plumbing codes for layout and routing of plumbing and drainage systems.
• Generate fabrication isometrics.
• Interpret P&ID diagrams and layout piping systems with minimal input.
• Perform field verification of existing installations.
• Assist in quality checking drafts for compliance with standards and project-specific CAD/BIM requirements.
• Provide technical support for 2D and 3D CAD/BIM tools related to mechanical design.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency with 3D modeling software.
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenPlant, Revit MEP, Equipment Modeling, HVAC, and OpenBuildings/Revit.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience supervising drafting teams.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.
• Experience in water/wastewater projects.
