Job summary

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of livestock slaughter operations and meat/poultry processing
• Knowledge of SPS, SSOP, HACCP and humane slaughter
• Ability to prepare reports and analyze data
• Experience with inspection protocols and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Evaluates establishments to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
• Performs ante-mortem and post-mmortem inspections and sanitation checks
• Prepares technical reports detailing violations and corrective actions
• Collects tissue samples and monitors sampling programs
• Trains others and serves as liaison within the unit
