Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Software Systems Engineer to join the Affera Mapping and Ablation System team, supporting the design and development of advanced software-enabled capital systems for the cardiac electrophysiology lab.

The ideal candidate has strong MBSE skills and experience using SysML to support V-model traceability from requirements through verification. This role requires on-site collaboration and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 2+ years, or PhD with 0+ years.
• Experience with requirements-driven development and traceability.
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts and SysML.
• Strong documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system and software architecture models using SysML.
• Link system intents to software services, APIs, schemas, modules, and firmware via MBSE.
• Define interface contracts between system, software, and hardware.
• Support V-model traceability across requirements, design, implementation, verification.
• Write and review software system requirements with full traceability.
• Perform risk analysis including FMEA and interface risk identification.
• Contribute to MBSE tooling and trace automation improvements.
• Apply standards and tools across the development life cycle.
