Mercor is seeking senior mathematicians to guide how frontier AI models reason about real mathematical research. You will review the quality of mathematical reasoning tasks and model outputs, write problem specifications and reference solutions, and design benchmarks that demonstrate genuine model improvement.

The role requires a PhD and a proven publication record, with hands-on use of research mathematics and strong written communication.

Formación

• PhD in mathematics or closely related field.
• Faculty-level senior research role or equivalent.
• Specialization in at least one area (e.g., analysis, PDE, algebra, geometry, probability, applied math).
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record; recognitions are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Expert review: Assess mathematical tasks and model outputs for rigor and validity.
• Write precise problem statements and reference solutions and proofs.
• Design benchmarks and evaluation sets in your area of specialization.
• Collaborate with researchers to turn tacit judgment into explicit criteria.
