Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
• 5+ years of materials and process engineering experience in aerospace/defense
• Experience developing material and process specifications for production programs
• Experience with polymeric materials, TPS components, propellants, adhesives
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Material Specifications for materials and components across RMS systems
• Create Process Specifications for manufacturing operations including propellant processing and bonding
• Develop Standard Acceptance Test Procedures and NDI sheets for materials and hardware
• Review and standardize work instructions into formal, configuration-controlled specifications
• Serve as SME for polymeric materials selection, processing, and qualification across solid rocket motor systems
• Lead materials characterization programs including mechanical testing, thermal analysis, and ablation evaluation
• Provide materials and process expertise to Design and Manufacturing teams
• Drive material and process qualifications from development through production readiness; manage supplier relationships
• Lead failure investigations and root cause analyses for material-related issues
• Interface with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to translate requirements into solutions
• Drive cost reduction and cycle-time improvements for high-rate production
• Mentor junior engineers and prepare technical documentation
