Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Senior Associate in the Materials Laboratory Engineering group at the AMF Laboratory in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on material characterization, failure investigations, and in-process testing to support the M&PE team.

You will work under the AMF Laboratory Manager, performing tests on non-metallic materials, developing new test methods, and contributing to safety and efficiency in the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior Material Process Engineering experience; or a graduate degree with 0–2 years.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior Material Process Engineering experience.
• Preferred: degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing for material characterization, failure investigations, and recertification.
• Support testing plans and fabricate non-metallic material test layups.
• Generate laboratory reports and maintain readiness per 5S+1 principles.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, MIL, ISO and standard work documents.
