Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) in St Paul, MN seeks a Senior Chemist to lead advanced chemical analysis and forensic evaluations, and to produce defensible technical reports for materials testing and consulting services.

In this role, you will work autonomously on complex investigations, mentor laboratory staff, ensure QA/QC compliance, coordinate with engineers and petrographers, and support project scoping, proposals, and client consultations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in analytical chemistry or related fields.
• Ability to interpret complex data and prepare clear, defensible reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced chemical analysis and laboratory testing of construction materials.
• Interpret data to evaluate material performance, contamination, deterioration, or failure.
• Lead complex projects and provide technical oversight of analyses and reporting.
• Prepare and review technical reports for accuracy and clarity.
• Mentor chemists, technicians, and interns as needed.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures and documentation meet standards.
