Job summary

Ridge Corporation is seeking a hands-on Senior Materials Buyer to lead purchasing strategies, supplier management, and inventory optimization across our Ohio facilities. You will partner with leadership, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure material availability and drive cost savings.

The role requires 5+ years in procurement within manufacturing, strong ERP/MRP and Excel skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with significant manufacturing experience
• Experience: 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or materials management in manufacturing
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel
• Negotiation & Sourcing: Proven track record in supplier negotiation and strategic sourcing
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, cross-functional leadership and problem-solving
• Mindset: Self-motivated, hands-on, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for raw materials and components across multiple facilities
• Source, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders to support production
• Monitor demand trends and manage inventory to minimize excess/obsolescence
• Develop quick recovery plans for material shortages
• Evaluate and lead supplier performance reviews on cost, lead times, quality, and delivery
• Collaborate daily with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance on launches and changes
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data in ERP, report on cost savings and supply metrics
• Ensure ethical sourcing and compliance with company policies
• Engage production teams on the floor to address material needs and inventory accuracy
