Job summary

Benchmark Electronics in Tempe, AZ is seeking a procurement-focused professional to manage the preparation and review of proposal packages, analyze part prints, and coordinate with the commodity team to optimize quotes and supplier selections. You will work with the Benchmark CRA and quote system to generate RFQ records, issue RFQs to bidders, and ensure accurate documentation.

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in an EMS or Manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical or Electronics components
  • Demonstrate expertise in negotiation, implementation and maintenance of supplier contracts
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, good judgement and professionalism when representing the company

Responsibilities

  • Understand the process to download data from customer sources. Including transfer portals, email, or other formats
  • Create RFQ record in the Benchmark Customer Request Application (CRA) to generate unique RFQ tracking number
  • Review proposal packages for completeness and interface with responsible functional groups to facilitate receipt of missing documentation/information
  • Analyze part packages and designate make/buy parts; communicate with the commodity team
  • Create quote folders and generate part file(s) in quote system
  • Review part prints and create the process to machine, weld, and or assemble the parts(s)
  • Work with the commodity team to send Request for Quotes (RFQ's) to bidders, obtaining the lowest competitive price
  • Generate applicable quote documentation for review (CBOM, Quote sheets)
  • Ensure that all quote documents for material and outside services are stored in correct folders
  • Perform final analysis of package and set up approval review as required within prescribed time commitments
  • Work on quote automation to improve quote turn time and accuracy
  • Analyze quotes to the actual costs
  • Work under moderate supervision, able to make some day-to-day decisions based on own judgment
  • May give direction and mentoring to lower-level employees in the same job family
  • All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets or exceeds Customer Satisfaction

Summary

Performs basic to moderately complex tasks required to obtain and review proposal packages.
