Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems seeks a Principal Material Process Engineer to join the Sentinel program in Huntsville, AL. You will manage part/ material design documentation, develop test strategies, and coordinate with systems and design engineers to ensure traceability across supplier sub-systems.

The role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of related experience; DoD/SAP clearances may be needed. Relocation assistance may be available, with a 9/80 work schedule optional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
• Strong written and oral communication for test plans and briefing stakeholders.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Perform full spectrum of design application parts management tasks within a Systems Engineering framework.
• Develop comprehensive test or data analysis strategies for large‑scale aerospace components.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, design engineers, PMs, reliability engineers and customers to ensure traceability of part, material and process documentation.
