Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced corporate attorney to join as a strategic partner for marketing and privacy-compliant campaigns in the United States. You will act as the primary legal liaison for Marketing and Communications, reviewing promotional language, product announcements, and campaigns to ensure compliance and substantiation.

Job description

• Serve as the primary legal point of contact for all marketing and communications activity
• Review and advise on marketing language across promotional materials, product announcements, web copy, advertising, social media, email campaigns, sales enablement content, event materials, and press materials
• Ensure marketing claims are accurate, substantiated, and compliant
• Balance commercial, marketing, compliance, and privacy concerns across U.S. and international advertising campaigns
• Advise on targeted and digital advertising practices, including data, privacy, and tracking for direct-to-consumer marketing such as email marketing
• Act as the embedded legal partner to Marketing and Communications leadership
• Provide practical, business-oriented guidance enabling campaigns to launch quickly and responsibly
• Partner with cross-functional teams and determine when to act independently or escalation matters
• Collaborate with the commercial team on global marketing agreements

Requirements

• J.D.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
• 8+ years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house
• Meaningful exposure to marketing, advertising, and commercial contracting
• Strong command of advertising and marketing law, including claims substantiation and consumer protection
• Working knowledge of privacy and data protection issues relevant to targeted advertising and direct-to-consumer marketing
• Ability to draft and negotiate a high volume of marketing commercial agreements independently
• Excellent judgment and a business-first mindset
• Ability to give clear, practical advice under tight timelines
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Ability to partner closely with non-legal stakeholders
