Job summary

AAA USA is seeking an experienced Marine Shipfitter to support major marine and shipbuilding projects along the Gulf Coast. The 1st Class Ship Fitter will fabricate, assemble, and install structural parts per blueprints and shipyard standards.

Must have 3+ years in ship fitting or related fabrication. Relocation assistance, overtime opportunities, and long-term Gulf Coast projects are offered. Join a team focused on quality and safety in a dynamic marine environment.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Minimum 3+ years of ship fitting or related fabrication in shipyards.
• Able to understand shipyard drawings and blueprints.
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and measuring instruments.
• Familiar with shipyard safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, sketches, and specs to determine layout and procedures.
• Cut, align, fit, and tack structural parts using hand tools and welding equipment.
• Lay out reference points and lines on ship components with measuring tools.
• Assemble hulls, bulkheads, frames, and other structures in proper alignment.
• Use torches, grinders, and hand tools to prepare surfaces and cut material.
• Ensure quality and accuracy in fitting and fabrication work.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
• Assist with lifting and positioning large components using cranes or rigging.
