Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Marine Electrical Engineer to design, build, maintain, and ensure reliability of electrical systems across our marine fleet. This role supports both new vessel builds and ongoing fleet sustainment, with collaboration across operations, projects, contractors, and vendors.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, balance multiple priorities, and support mission-critical operations where uptime is essential.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial electrical trades, marine electrical systems, industrial power systems, or related environments.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical operations where rapid issue resolution and high system availability are required.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and adapt to changing project needs in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience working directly with vendors and contractors, including oversight of installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Strong commitment to safety and experience supporting high-risk or critical operations.
  • Experience with diesel-electric power generation systems and electrical power distribution systems.
  • Experience with electrical field devices, controls, instrumentation, and associated systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting vessel construction, shipyard projects, or large-scale industrial build environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams Experience leading or supporting electrical failure investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Experience evaluating contractor bids, technical proposals, and vendor solutions.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and quality processes.
  • Experience supporting shipyard electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Familiarity with ABS and USCG electrical classification requirements and compliance standards.
  • Previous experience supporting maritime, offshore, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated operational environments.
