Job summary

Saildrone is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Alameda, CA. You will develop and execute comprehensive test protocols for drone production, oversee validation, and lead RCA investigations to fix complex failures.

As the technical lead for integration procedures, you will create robust diagnostics, collaborate across hardware and software domains, and drive Design for Test capabilities to ensure scalable manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in systems integration, robotics, aerospace manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing.
• Proficient validating power and hardware architectures using test equipment.
• Robust automated test scripts in Python or LabVIEW in Linux.
• Clear communication of complex system interactions to teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and execute test specifications for PCBs, sensors, and full-drone integration.
• Lead End-of-Line testing and production validation before sea trials.
• Lead complex system integration and RCA investigations for unknown failures.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams to enable DfT and post-change updates.
• Create and maintain diagnostic trees, flowcharts, and test procedures.
• Monitor yield trends and update diagnostics to improve repairability.
• Develop and maintain Python/LabVIEW test scripts in Linux.
• Provide timely updates to cross-functional stakeholders supporting production.
