General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in Groton, CT is seeking an energetic individual to support the Pipe Welding department in achieving operational excellence and improving first-time quality within the Operations directorate.

Responsibilities include assisting with Argon Purge process improvements, addressing quality items such as audits and CARs, developing self-assessment reports, researching equipment, and updating procedures in Gateway/TSPs.

Formación

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Required: 5+ years Electric Boat Pipe Welding experience.
• Preferred: Experience writing Argon Purges.
• Preferred: 2+ years of Pipe Welding Management experience.
• Preferred: 2+ years of administrative experience related to weld qualifications, CPJ tracking, and NDT metrics.

Responsabilidades

• Support Department 248 Operations with quality issues and operational items.
• Assist Supervisors with improving the Argon Purge process and quality responses to Audit reports, CARs, DLS/TLS, etc.
• Support development of self-assessment reports.
• Research new equipment/tooling identified by the Operations team.
• Develop and maintain procedures in Procedure Gateway (TSOs, SDDs, MDDs).
• Help develop and maintain training/road maps and coordinate with Weld School/Training to find improvement opportunities in Pipe Welder Training.
• Assist the Department Manager with NDT rates, CPJ life cycle initiatives, data tracking/trending, and other quality/efficiency initiatives.

Overview

The Groton Operations Pipe Welding department is looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual to help them to achieve operational excellence and improve first-time quality within the Operations directorate. The successful candidate will support Department 248 Operations with quality issues and other operational items.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting General Forman/Supervisors with improving the Argon Purge process
• Support responses to quality items such as Audit reports, CARs, DLS/TLS, etc.
• Support in development of self-assessment reports
• Research new equipment/tooling as identified by the Operations team
• Develop new/maintain existing procedures in Procedure Gateway (TSOs, SDDs, MDDs, etc.)
• Help develop and maintain training/road maps and work with Weld School/Training to find improvement opportunities in Pipe Welder Training
• Support the Department Manager with NDT rates, CPJ life cycle initiatives, data tracking/trending, and other quality/efficiency improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years Electric Boat Pipe Welding experience

Preferred:

• 2+ years of Pipe Welding Management experience
