Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while improving productivity and quality.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, and coordinate design-for-manufacturability with Product Development. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or engineering field required.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and project-management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership in team settings.
• Ability to work in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects with new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers and technicians.
• Conduct Process FMEAs and process validations with strategy.
• Improve quality, labor efficiency and throughput via Lean methods.
• Coordinate tooling design, procurement, build and deployment of machinery.
