Karman Industries in Torrance, CA seeks a senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the manufacturing and assembly of cutting‑edge turbomachinery for Thermal01. This role establishes robust manufacturing capabilities, including equipment layout, process development, vendor selection, tooling, and workflow design.

You will own a major integrated subsystem, guiding build development from design release through production while working closely with design, supply chain and production to ensure safety,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience and a B.S. in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Experience authoring work instructions, mBOMs, and procedures for assemblies involving mechanical, electrical, and fluid/pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, production, and quality teams to optimize build processes.
• Strong understanding of integrated assembly processes across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
• Experience driving projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsabilités

• Own manufacturing readiness for assigned product lines; develop scalable assembly processes and support capacity expansion.
• Own a major integrated subsystem; contribute to build development from design release to production.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts across design, supply chain, and production for planning, sourcing, sequencing, mBOM development, tooling, and work orders.
• Author work instructions and technical procedures for mechanical, electrical, and fluid/pneumatic systems.
• Guide workcenter development with focus on safety, capital investment, and tooling as the facility scales.
• Provide hands-on leadership to resolve manufacturing challenges, perform root cause analysis, and implement efficiency improvements.
