Job summary

Alkegen is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Buffalo, NY to drive industrialization of battery fire protection, emission control, and sealing products for automotive and energy storage sectors.

You will lead cross-functional efforts to translate customer requirements into standardized manufacturing processes, and supervise capital projects while collaborating with R&D and suppliers to deliver scalable solutions that improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in automotive or battery sectors.
• Proven track record in process optimization, efficiency improvement, and managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies and industry standards, especially for battery components.
• Automation programming experience (PLC).
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing high-performance teams.
• Excellent project management skills; proficient in Microsoft Project or similar tools.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with SPC and manufacturing data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
• Travel up to 50% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects and automate manufacturing processes with a modular, scalable approach.
• Develop and implement technology for efficient, flexible automated processes including robotics and data gathering.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and suppliers to integrate new technologies into production.
• Standardize production knowledge and provide cost, output, and capex estimates for pursuits.
• Manage cross-functional teams to deliver capital projects and process improvements.
• Ensure safety and environmental sustainability in new processes.
• Drive supplier and vendor coordination for timely, quality material supply.
