Job summary

Heron Power Inc. is accelerating the electrification of everything with cutting-edge power electronics. We seek a Sr./Staff Manufacturing Engineer to develop, test and scale inline inspection, electrical testing and high-speed potting/dispense processes for our transformer assembly lines.

You will collaborate across design, process and supplier teams to ensure robust, repeatable equipment and processes, from concept to production ramp, while driving DoE and PFMEA improvements.

Qualifications

• We have a short list of must-have requirements focusing on first principles, hands-on skills and initiative.
• Bachelor level engineering degree and 7+ years in high-volume manufacturing
• Experience deploying automated nondestructive inspection (X-ray/CT, ultrasonic, thermography or vision)
• Experience developing automated electrical test for high-volume production
• Experience with high-viscosity potting/dispense systems and surface treatments
• Experience with ultrasonic, welding and process monitoring
• Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans and DoE methodology
• Hands-on automation, robotics, PLCs and vision systems

Responsibilities

• Lead inline inspection and test strategies for high-volume transformer assembly lines
• Develop high-speed automated inspection for voids, delamination and cure defects
• Implement surface treatments and inline verification of quality
• Deploy automated high-volume electrical test equipment and sequencing
• Collaborate with design teams for DFM and process robustness
• Manage PFMEA, control plans and SPC initiatives
• Support automation integration with robots and conveyors
