Job summary

Pow.bio is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Torrance, CA to support critical component development for hypersonic strike vehicles. Job description

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Castelion is seeking a high capable Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and build of critical components and sub systems for our long range hypersonic strike vehicles. This will be a full time, exempt position based in our Torrance, CA HQ.

As a Manufacturing Engineering you will be responsible for working closely with our engineering teams to execute complex builds of critical components, advancing designs, oversee maintenance, oversee upgrades, defining manufacturing, maturing subassembly process flow, define assembly and integration processes.

The primary focus of this role will be assisting our team in a production ready separation assembly line by early 2027.

Responsibilities
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience for high performance aerospace products
  • Lead day to day production of mechanisms such as the Castelion separation system and Launchers.
  • Develop process and factory design to transition from development to production rates of 1000s of units per year.
  • Develop and refine process documentation including build instructions, test procedures, safety standards, and mBOMs.
  • Create, maintain and communicate detailed plans and schedules
  • Work closely with supply chain to develop new and existing suppliers
  • Design and validate tooling
  • Participate in design reviews to drive design for manufacturing (DFM)
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or testing experience or heavy involvement in extra‑curricular design teams at the university level.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in aerospace mechanisms.
  • Experience with structural welding
  • Experience with ordinance
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter CAD/PDM
  • Hands on experience in metal fabrication
  • Experience in transitioning development process to production
