Job summary

SLB New Energy & Industrial is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to optimize manufacturing systems within Data Centre infrastructure solutions. You will lead cross-functional improvements across production areas, applying Lean Six Sigma to raise safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

You will mentor engineers, develop capacity plans, and implement digital manufacturing initiatives using SAP, Power BI and Power Apps to drive data-based decisions and enhancements across value

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a complex environment.
  • Proven experience leading plant-wide process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, capacity planning, design, and optimisation.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing without authority.
  • Must be authorised to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering resource for assigned value streams and production areas.
  • Lead resolution of complex manufacturing, quality, and productivity challenges using structured problem solving.
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives using Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, standardised work, line balancing, pull systems.
  • Perform capacity modelling, simulation analysis, and production optimisation studies.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to maximise throughput and efficiency.
  • Develop business cases and lead implementation of process, equipment, automation, and technology investments.
  • Define manufacturing standards and ensure consistent implementation across operations.
  • Lead new product introductions, process transfers, and major operational changes.
  • Analyse performance data and establish KPI dashboards for data-based decisions.
  • Mentor and develop Manufacturing Engineers, technicians, and staff.
  • Lead root cause investigations for recurring quality and delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Technology, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to drive improvements.
  • Champion digital manufacturing initiatives using SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, automation tools and advanced analytics.

SLB is seeking a motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support our Data Centre infrastructure solutions business.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer at SLB is a technical leader responsible for optimising manufacturing systems, driving operational excellence, and leading complex process improvement initiatives across production operations. This role serves as a subject matter expert in manufacturing engineering, Lean Six Sigma, and production system design. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer independently leads strategic projects, mentors junior engineers, and partners cross‑functionally to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering resource for assigned value streams and production areas.
  • Lead resolution of complex manufacturing, quality, and productivity challenges through structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Lead cross‑functional continuous improvement initiatives utilising Lean Six Sigma tools including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, standardised work, line balancing, pull systems, and cellular manufacturing.
  • Perform advanced capacity modelling, simulation analysis, and production optimisation studies.
  • Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks to maximise throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Develop business cases and lead implementation of process, equipment, automation, and technology investments.
  • Define manufacturing standards and ensure consistent implementation across operations.
  • Lead new product introductions, process transfers, and major operational changes.
  • Analyse operational performance data and establish KPI dashboards to drive data‑based decision making.
  • Mentor and develop Manufacturing Engineers, technicians, and operational personnel.
  • Lead root cause investigations for recurring quality, delivery, and process issues.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Technology, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality organisations to drive strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Champion digital manufacturing initiatives utilising SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, automation tools, and advanced analytics.
  • Influence site manufacturing strategy through long‑term capacity planning and operational roadmap development.
Qualifications And Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading plant‑wide process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, capacity planning, process design, and production optimisation.
  • Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional projects and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Must be authorised to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with manufacturing simulation software and capacity modelling tools.
  • Advanced SAP ERP/MRP proficiency.
  • Power BI, Power Apps, and process automation experience.
  • AutoCAD or facility layout design experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading Kaizen events and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineering talent.
  • Experience supporting automation, Industry 4.0, or digital manufacturing initiatives.
