Job description

Our client in Buffalo, NY, is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team!

This is an on-site/full-time/direct hire position

Salary based on experience: Up to $120K

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer , you'll be at the forefront of optimizing high-performance production processes that deliver safe, efficient, and world-class sustainable insulation products. You'll provide critical day-to-day technical leadership while driving strategic initiatives, pioneering automation and control systems, and leading continuous improvement efforts that deliver measurable gains in operational excellence, cost reduction, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This is more than a technical role --- it's a high-impact leadership opportunity to lead transformative projects, mentor talent, and implement cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries of sustainable manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert day-to-day engineering support for the Buffalo Plants' mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs, HMIs, utilities, process ducting/piping, and production equipment.
  • Analyze complex production processes, data, and schedules to deliver insightful reports and strategic recommendations that empower leadership to make informed, forward-thinking decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams --- including design engineers, quality experts, and production leaders --- to create seamless, agile operations that consistently meet ambitious delivery targets.
  • Lead impactful Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to eliminate waste, dramatically boost productivity, and elevate product quality to new levels.
  • Evaluate and revolutionize existing manufacturing processes and equipment, identifying high-potential improvements and implementing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and throughput.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses and deploy robust corrective actions to swiftly resolve issues, minimize downtime, and maintain peak operational performance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including detailed work instructions, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and streamlined SOPs.
  • Architect and execute forward-looking manufacturing strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and exceed quality standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and control technicians, sharing your expertise to build a high-performing team and grow the next generation of manufacturing leaders.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by exploring and integrating the latest advancements in automation, controls, and manufacturing technology.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to secure premium materials and components, and proactively resolve issues to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Champion full compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, upholding the highest levels of safety and quality.
  • Review and optimize labor, material, and production costs, and forecast future needs to support data-driven strategic planning.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and processes to improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and advance sustainability goals.
  • Actively participate in risk assessments, Management of Change (MOC) processes, and incident investigations for all plant electrical and mechanical systems.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven senior-level engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Training
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and protocols.
  • Demonstrated excellence in troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with Microsoft Project experience highly preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) certification is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
