Job summary

HighRes is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer focused on Production Sustaining and process improvements to optimize manufacturing efficiency. You will collaborate with technicians and cross-functional teams to support manufacturing and drive continuous improvement on the floor.

You will work with Quality and Operations to ensure compliant, on-time production, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to KPI/OKR reporting. This is an onsite full-time role with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience working with electromechanical assemblies.
• SolidWorks 2023 or similar CAD program knowledge.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
• Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting, including schematics.
• Exposure to GD&T best practices.
• DFX/DFMA mindset to support Sustaining/CIP projects.
• Experience using ERP/PLM software; Dynamics 365/Bluestar PLM is a plus.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Role is onsite full time with up to 10% travel locally or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize process and design for manufacturability, assembly, and test.
• Ensure product change rollout risks are identified, escalated, and mitigated through manufacturing process control and end of line testing.
• Drive collaborative efforts with the Operations teams to ensure product update release meets cross functional requirements such as BOM structuring, component procurement strategies, etc.
• Assess process flow and implement Lean / Six Sigma.
• Curate work instructions and training to increase build efficiency and quality.
• Create fixturing/tooling to support increasing production to scale with demand.
• Assist Junior level Engineers in sustaining and continuous improvement efforts for projects focused on manufacturing and manufacturability.
• Work with Quality to decrease NCMR and other CAPA related issues.
• Report on KPI, OKR, and other monthly metrics for management.
• Support cost reduction initiatives by investigating material costs, manufacturing and machining processes, and being conscious of lead time and quality impact.

Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will primarily be focused on Production Sustaining, as well as creating and implementing process improvements and strategies to optimize manufacturing efficiency. They will also be working together with the technician workforce to provide production floor support, as well as being a cross-functional resource to liaison between operations and other engineering teams to ensure communication and compliance across all facets of manufacturing.
