Job summary

Sempra is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, Advisory and Policy to lead the organization’s technical accounting, transaction advisory and accounting policy efforts. This role partners with executive leadership and external auditors to ensure sound accounting judgments in complex transactions.

The position requires significant GAAP expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to drive policy initiatives across regions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA license required.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• Ability to lead teams and influence executive stakeholders.
• Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop technical accounting professionals and managers; advance expertise through training and knowledge-sharing.
• Communicate complex accounting matters to executive leadership and external auditors.
• Evaluate complex transactions, advise on structures and accounting implications, and drive policy initiatives.
• Oversee policy and research across the organization; manage multiple teams.
• Guide resource allocation and strategic priorities within the function.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and regulators.
