Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to join its Corporate Controller's Organization. The role provides technical accounting guidance, supports policy compliance, and analyzes accounting standards while collaborating with Finance, Legal, Tax, and Operations.

It combines strong technical accounting with leadership in a fast-paced environment. The position requires 9+ years of experience, a CPA, and deep U.S.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 9+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with Big 4 or large public accounting firm, with progression through Manager level.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience performing technical accounting research and memoranda.
• Experience supporting M&A transactions and related documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting assessments and guidance on complex transactions for senior management.
• Provide ad hoc technical accounting guidance with cross-functional teams.
• Lead M&A technical accounting assessments and determine appropriate treatment.
• Review working capital, closing balance sheets, and prepare purchase accounting entries.
• Conduct technical accounting research under U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and statutory frameworks and prepare memoranda.
• Prepare financial statements and data for press releases and Audit Committee communications.
• Support month-/quarter-/year-end closing for technical accounting areas and audits.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure proper controls.
