Job description

About the Role

Planet is building a Talent Operations function to support its rapid hiring growth. The Senior Manager, Talent Operations will own the end‑to‑end recruiting process, from requisition creation to offer acceptance, ensuring a world‑class candidate experience across multiple time zones and geographies.

Impact You’ll Own
  • Lead and execute the Talent Operations roadmap, including AI assessment tool evaluation, global process standardization, headcount approval flow redesign, SLA audits, and interview training program development.
  • Manage a team of coordinators and operations specialists, setting priorities, coaching on operational excellence, and ensuring coordination coverage for a growing recruiting team.
  • Drive SLA compliance to target by establishing process controls, automated reminders, and accountability mechanisms in Greenhouse.
  • Reduce time‑to‑fill by streamlining operational bottlenecks in interview scheduling, offer approvals, and pre‑offer document processing.
  • Operationalize the selected AI interview assessment tool across the recruiting team, including training, change management, hiring‑manager onboarding, and usage analytics.
  • Own ATS administration and configuration—custom workflows, approval chains, reporting dashboards, offer templates, and compliance fields for global hiring.
  • Lead the headcount approval flow redesign—document current state, map the ideal state, build automated workflows, and launch with clear communication.
  • Ensure onboarding compliance for new hires across multiple geographies, working closely with People Operations on background checks, export‑control clearances, and work‑authorization verification.
  • Build and maintain the talent‑operations knowledge base with current policies and SLAs.
  • Provide operational data to the capacity model—pipeline velocity, stage conversions, and scheduling throughput—to inform resource allocation.
What You Bring
  • 6+ years in talent or HR operations, with 4+ years managing a team of coordinators at a scaling technology company.
  • Deep expertise with Greenhouse ATS (or comparable system), including administration, workflow configuration, custom reporting, and integration management.
  • Experience driving SLA compliance and process adherence across a distributed recruiting team.
  • Managing recruiting coordination at scale (100+ hires per quarter) with multi‑timezone scheduling and high‑volume offer processing.
  • Successful deployment of new recruiting technology—AI tools, scheduling automation, assessment platforms—with measurable adoption and impact metrics.
  • Project‑management capability to run multiple concurrent workstreams without dropping priorities.
  • Global hiring experience, especially EMEA compliance and offer‑letter localization.
  • Data‑oriented mindset—using metrics to identify bottlenecks and make decisions.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience supporting a German entity setup, including familiarity with German employment compliance.
  • Background in aerospace, hardware, or manufacturing recruiting operations with export‑control and security‑clearance requirements.
  • Experience with headcount‑planning and approval‑workflow tools that integrate with HRIS and finance systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar process‑improvement credentials.
  • Ability to build or rebuild a talent‑operations function from scratch—establishing SLAs, reporting, and documentation where none existed.
