Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Material Program Management (MPM) leads material program execution for the Melbourne facility and reports directly to the Director, MPM and Material Estimating & Pricing. This role owns the entire end-to-end supply chain material process — from proposal through contract closeout — across a portfolio of development, production, and sustainment programs.

The role works closely with MPMs across all three sites (Melbourne, Dallas, and Cypress) as needed to support Melbourne-assigned programs, and collaborates directly with peer Senior Managers overseeing MPM work in Dallas and Cypress to ensure consistent standards, shared best practices, and aligned execution across the enterprise. This role is also responsible for building and sustaining strong cross-functional partnerships across the Supply Chain organization, specifically with Procurement and Subcontracts, to ensure material pricing, sourcing, and execution decisions are tightly coordinated end-to-end.

This position is accountable for program material cost, schedule, delivery, and forecasting performance, including budgets, material availability, material and labor forecasting, EAC rigor, proposal activity, and risk/opportunity management for all assigned programs. The Senior Manager pre-briefs the Director ahead of all program reviews, EAC reviews, and proposal reviews.

Job Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end material supply chain execution for assigned Melbourne programs — from proposal through contract closeout
  • Lead and/or coordinate with Material Program Managers across Melbourne, Dallas, and Cypress as needed to support assigned programs
  • Collaborate with peer Senior Managers leading MPM work in Dallas and Cypress to align standards, share best practices, and drive consistent execution across sites
  • Build and sustain strong, collaborative working relationships across the Supply Chain organization, specifically with Procurement and Subcontracts, to ensure coordinated pricing, sourcing, and execution
  • Own program material budgets, material availability, and material/labor forecasting for all assigned programs
  • Drive disciplined participation in program financial processes (EAC cycles, AOP commitments, material sales forecasting)
  • Pre-brief the Director, MPM and Material Estimating & Pricing ahead of all program reviews, EAC reviews, and proposal reviews
  • Lead proposal activity for assigned programs, including material pricing strategy, Basis of Estimate (BOE) support, and compliance packages
  • Build and maintain program material risk/opportunity registers; lead identification, mitigation, and tracking to closure — including identifying potential risks before they occur
  • Establish and sustain operating rhythm and performance reviews across Supply Chain and cross-functional stakeholders (Program Office, Procurement, Subcontracts, Finance, Engineering)
  • Serve as a strong, influential communicator across all levels of the organization, translating material execution status into clear, actionable insight for leadership
  • Champion continuous improvement of tools, data, and processes — including ERP (Costpoint) and Power BI reporting — to reduce execution friction and improve forecast accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with government and customer requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, flow-downs, audit support) as applicable to material execution
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Direct Material Program Management (MPM) experience
  • Leadership experience within large-scale Aerospace & Defense (A&D) companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, material program management, subcontract management, program management, or operations in an aerospace/defense environment
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience (direct team leadership strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success managing program material cost and schedule performance (forecasting, EAC, variance drivers, recovery execution)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with executive-level communication skills
  • Strong, influential communicator capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong strategic solution provider with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risk before it materializes
Desired Knowledge / Experience
  • ERP systems experience, specifically Costpoint
  • Power BI reporting and analytics
  • Material forecasting
  • Supply chain proposal experience
  • Risk and opportunity identification and mitigation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (MBA or technical discipline)
  • EVM/EVMS experience and/or Cost Account Manager (CAM) exposure
  • Experience supporting proposals and complex captures (BOE development, should-cost, supplier strategy, negotiation support)
  • Working knowledge of additional MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data-driven supply chain metrics dashboards
