Job summary

CoStar Group seeks a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to own architecture and drive software initiatives across teams. You will lead developers using TypeScript, React, NodeJS, .NET Core, SQL Server and AWS, coordinating across departments and guiding product readiness.

You’ll partner with senior sales and product leaders to design customer‑facing applications, apply QA disciplines, and ensure ongoing delivery of high‑quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, in-person university.
• Full‑stack development experience.
• 2+ years of team‑leadership experience.
• Demonstrable track record of building and launching products.
• Experience with TypeScript, Elastic, C#, SQL Server, and AWS.
• Proficiency in Continuous Delivery best practices.
• Understanding of AI technologies and hands‑on experience in AI adoption and development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of commitment to prior employers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for architecture, project ownership, and team leadership.
• Lead team(s) of talented software developers in building applications and platforms using modern TypeScript, React, NodeJS, .NET Core, SQL Server, and AWS technologies.
• Manage and coordinate projects within teams and across departments. Act as a player‑coach.
• Work directly with senior leaders in sales organizations and product leaders to design applications that delight customers.
• Apply sound quality‑management methods, tools and techniques to create and support defect‑free application software that meets organizational needs.
• Act as “Voice of the Customer” when participating in product readiness reviews.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person university or college.
• Full‑stack development experience.
• 2+ years of team‑leadership experience.
• A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products.
• Experience using TypeScript, Elastic, C#, SQL Server, and AWS technologies.
• Proficiency in Continuous Delivery best practices.
• Understanding of AI technologies and hands‑on experience in AI adoption and development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers, and senior management).
• Track record of commitment to prior employers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading products throughout the software development life cycle.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• Familiarity with marketing ecosystems such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Pardot is a bonus.

Compensation

Base Compensation: $216,000.00 – $261,000.00 Annually

Location & Work Schedule

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in‑office and the option to work from home on Friday.
