Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an engineering leader with deep Salesforce expertise and a broad software engineering background to build scalable, cloud-native solutions across Brand, Marketing, Partnerships, and CC‑Sales programs.

You will lead Salesforce and software engineers, drive API integrations, automated outreach workflows, and AI‑driven automation in a high‑impact, consumer‑facing health platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with hands‑on development.
• ~2+ years managing or developing software teams in Agile, cloud‑first environments.
• Deep Salesforce knowledge across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with external enterprise apps using middleware (MuleSoft, Workato) or serverless/API services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Background in full‑stack/backend development (Java/Node.js/Python) and APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD tooling, and cloud‑native architecture.
• Salesforce Certifications: System Architect, Application Architect, or CTA track is a plus.

This pivotal role requires an engineering leader with deep Salesforce ecosystem expertise complemented by a broad software engineering background. You will build and scale the technical foundation supporting our key growth drivers: Brand, Marketing, Partnerships, CC-Sales (Contact Center Sales), and Outreach Programs .

In this role, you will lead a team of software and Salesforce engineers building scalable, integrated, and cloud-native solutions. You will sit at the intersection of enterprise CRM capabilities and broader custom software engineering, driving everything from API integrations and custom microservices to automated outreach workflows and AI-driven automation.

Salesforce Core Architecture: Oversee the architectural design, customization, and scalability of our Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud / Data Cloud, and Experience Cloud).

Broad Software Engineering: Lead the development of modern technical solutions beyond CRM bounds, including custom microservices, event-driven middleware, REST/GraphQL APIs, and data integration pipelines.

Sales & Outreach Tech Stack: Architect high-volume CC-Sales workflows, omni-channel contact center technology integrations, automated outreach trigger engines, and partner portals.

Team Management & Engineering Excellence

People Leadership: Hire, mentor, and retain a high-performing engineering team comprising Salesforce developers, full-stack software engineers, and integration specialists.

Agile Culture: Drive continuous delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment—leading backlog refinement, sprint execution, code reviews, and architecture design sessions.

Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Security, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Executive Leadership to translate strategy into technical deliverables.

Governance, Quality & Innovation

DevOps & Release Management: Enforce robust DevOps practices, automated testing, CI/CD deployment pipelines, environment management (sandboxes to production), and Salesforce governor limit optimizations.

AI & Next-Gen Capabilities: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies—including Salesforce Agentforce/Einstein AI, LLM/Generative AI orchestration, and automated routing to enhance platform performance and business velocity.

Security & Compliance: Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise security controls, data governance, and privacy regulations (HIPAA, CCPA, SOC2).

6+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong hands‑on development fundamentals.

~2+ years managing or developing software engineering teams in Agile, cloud‑first environments.

Salesforce Proficiency: Deep technical knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow Orchestration, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud.

Broader Engineering Stack: Background in full‑stack or backend software development (e.g., Java, Node.js, Python, microservices architecture, REST/GraphQL APIs, relational and non‑relational databases).

Proven experience integrating Salesforce with external enterprise applications using middleware (MuleSoft, Workato) or cloud‑native serverless/API services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Domain Exposure: Direct experience delivering tech solutions for high‑volume Contact Center/Telesales operations, Marketing automation, or Partner/Outreach platforms.

Salesforce Certifications: Certified Salesforce System Architect, Application Architect, or CTA track certifications.

Cloud & Modern DevOps: Hands‑on experience with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Copado, SFDX), and cloud‑native architecture.

AI & Intelligent Automation: Experience operationalizing AI capabilities, intelligent agentic workflows, or vector search integrations within CRM and outreach applications.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
