Illumia in Alpharetta, GA (hybrid) is seeking a Senior Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team building and operating mission-critical applications on cloud-native platforms. You will own production reliability, drive incident management, and promote modern engineering practices across AWS-based systems, APIs, and distributed architectures.
Strong leadership, communication, and technical vision are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in software development and platform engineering.
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering or cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong technical expertise in .NET (C#) and distributed system architectures.
- Experience building and operating applications in AWS cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of system reliability, production support, incident management, and operational excellence.
- Experience designing and supporting API-driven and integration-heavy systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and delivery of scalable services and applications built with .NET (C#) and deployed in AWS environments.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices across cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, system performance, and operational reliability.
- Own production health, uptime, and system reliability for supported applications.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
- Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and observability across systems.
- Guide system design and technical decisions aligned with architectural standards.
- Strengthen engineering ownership of system quality, reliability, and production outcomes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support deployments, integrations, and customer environments.
- Promote adoption of AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity, system quality, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure strong on-call practices and operational readiness across the team.

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading a team of Developers and QA Engineers to deliver scalable, high-performing software solutions while maintaining strong ownership of production systems. This role drives modern engineering practices across cloud-native platforms, ensures system reliability, and supports operational excellence through effective production support, incident management, and continuous improvement.
