Job summary

The University of Michigan’s School of Kinesiology seeks a Manager of Research Operations to oversee the Roybal Center for Promoting Adherence to Behavior Change and Enhancing Cognitive Function and the Motivation Laboratory, reporting to the Faculty Director. This role spans multi‑sponsor research, clinical trials, and a growing grant pipeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with relevant experience.
• Experience in project and operations management in a research setting.
• Regulatory processes and compliance knowledge.
• Financial management across multiple projects.
• Proficiency with REDCap and strong communication/leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run regular center/lab meetings, including annual Roybal Center meetings and site visits.
• Coordinate research activities across multiple projects using the Lab BrAIn system.
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures and the lab's manual of operations.
• Oversee IRB applications/reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in preparing reports to funders and track budgets across projects.
• Collaborate with SoK HR on recruiting, onboarding, and training research staff.
