Autism Speaks is seeking a Senior Manager, Communications and Public Relations to join our remote team. The role emphasizes strong writing and media relations to elevate our voice, build media connections, and support mission-driven storytelling.

Reporting to the Vice President of Communications & Public Relations, you will support proactive media relations, executive communications, and high-profile campaigns, collaborating across teams to identify stories and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
• 6–8 years in public relations, communications, media relations, or related role.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with ability to translate complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Support proactive media strategies tied to organizational priorities and major announcements.
• Pitch, secure, coordinate, and staff national and local media opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, and writers.
• Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, talking points, briefings, statements, FAQs, and messaging documents.
• Prepare executives for media interviews and briefings.
