Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead scheduling, cost estimating, change management and reporting across multiple development projects in a fully remote US role.

You will oversee project controls across budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting, partnering with estimating and finance to improve accuracy and decision support. A strong background in P6 is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering or an equivalent Project Controls certification is recommended.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project controls management; 5–7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 is required and experience with cost control and scheduling is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Programmatic: Manage schedule and cost databases for assigned projects and provide cost and schedule deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Develop project dashboards, month-end forecasts, and risk-progress metrics.
  • Change Management: Implement change workflows and assess design/construction impacts on cost and schedule.
  • Development Projects: Oversee schedule development across lifecycle stages and ensure contractor compliance with controls standards.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other management-assigned duties as needed.

Construction Delivery Department

Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

The Construction team is responsible for the entire process flow of delivering the physical data centers from shovel ready state through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, and management along the way. Construction implements and executes upon the work product developed by the Development & Engineering (D&E) team. The team also manages Vantage's build partners to success through technical feedback and review and actively participates in review of schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight.

Position Overview

As the Senior Manager, Project Controls for North America. Your key function will be to support the efficient delivery of Vantage Data Center Portfolio by the organization of data, implementation of scalable processes and the use of professional tools. In this role, you will lead, collaborate, negotiate, and communicate to identify areas for improvement, development of plans, processes and execute changes. This includes supporting project budgets and schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.

This role is based fully remote in the US.

Vantage is hiring a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead project controls efforts across multiple development projects. This role will oversee scheduling, cost estimating, change management, and reporting functions, ensuring alignment with global standards and supporting project delivery teams.

Essential Job Functions
Programmatic Support
  • Manage schedule and cost databases for assigned projects.
  • Ensure consistent use of WBS, CBS, and SOV structures.
  • Provide schedule and cost deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting
  • Develop project-level dashboards and reports.
  • Lead month-end forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of risk exposure and progress metrics.
Change Management
  • Implement change management workflows and documentation.
  • Evaluate design and construction changes for cost/schedule impact.
  • Maintain historical data for future benchmarking.
Development Projects
  • Oversee schedule development and updates across lifecycle stages.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with project controls standards.
  • Partner with estimating and finance teams to improve forecasting accuracy.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering or certification as Project Controls Manager or equivalent recommended.
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in project controls management required 5 to 7 years preferred.
  • Experience in P6 software
Skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding general project controls technical skills and the integration of all of the components including organizational, planning, accounting, analysis and revision process areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 25-50% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

  • Salary Range: $175-195k Base + Bonus

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
