Job summary

Sol de Janeiro is seeking a Manager, Packaging Artwork & Execution to translate approved packaging concepts into production-ready artwork and printed materials. You will own artwork governance, standards, workflows, and final-file readiness, partnering with Design, Engineering, Regulatory, Product Development, Supply Chain, and vendors to ensure brand integrity and supply continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Graphic Communications, Project Management, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in packaging artwork, packaging operations, print production, creative operations, or related functions within beauty, personal care, consumer products, or CPG industries.
  • Experience managing artwork development from concept handoff through production release.
  • Strong understanding of packaging print processes, artwork management systems, color approval processes, and packaging specifications.
  • Experience managing external artwork agencies, print suppliers, and cross-functional project teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory artwork requirements and packaging change management processes.
  • Exceptional project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience leading and developing direct reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hybrid working environment; must be willing to be in the office three times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the post-Design Turnover (DTO) phase of packaging development, ensuring seamless translation of creative concepts into accurate, production-ready artwork files.
  • Owns artwork execution standards, workflows, governance, and final release processes to support successful commercialization.
  • Builds and continuously improves scalable artwork workflows, approval systems, version control processes, and documentation standards that enhance speed, accuracy, consistency, and predictability.
  • Ensures all artwork assets are organized, archived, and audit-ready within centralized systems.
  • Serves as the central point of coordination for packaging artwork projects, providing visibility through project tracking, reporting, risk identification, dependency management, and proactive communication.
  • Leads relationships with external artwork agencies, print vendors, and execution partners, ensuring alignment on scope, quality, timing, cost, and performance expectations.
  • Owns all artwork-only changes following product launch, including updates driven by design evolution, regulatory requirements, market needs, and business priorities.
  • Coordinates BOM updates with Packaging and Master Data teams and partners with Production to ensure clear communication of phase-in and phase-out timing requirements.
  • Leads and develops internal packaging artwork resources, including artwork coordination and design execution functions.
  • Manages workload planning, resource allocation, performance management, capability building, and career development to support organizational goals.
  • Owns budgets related to packaging artwork operations, including external agencies, contract resources, and supporting partners.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance operating models to support growing business complexity and volume.

What You’ll Do:

The Manager, Packaging Artwork & Execution, leads the translation of approved packaging design concepts into production‑ready artwork and printed materials. This role owns packaging artwork governance, execution standards, workflows, and final‑file readiness to ensure brand integrity, regulatory compliance, operational feasibility, and supply continuity. The Manager collaborates closely with Packaging Design, Packaging Engineering, Regulatory, Product Development, Supply Chain, Production, Master Data, external vendors, and print partners to deliver high‑quality packaging artwork through disciplined processes, strong project management, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Working On:
Packaging Artwork Development & Commercialization

  • Coordinates Epson reviews and print approvals with Packaging Design, Packaging Engineering, and suppliers to ensure color accuracy and print integrity.
Post-Launch Artwork Management
  • Owns all artwork‑only changes following product launch, including updates driven by design evolution, regulatory requirements, market needs, and business priorities.
  • Ensures changes are executed accurately and without disruption to supply.
  • Coordinates BOM updates with Packaging and Master Data teams and partners with Production to ensure clear communication of phase‑in and phase‑out timing requirements.
Resource & Team Management
  • Leads and develops internal packaging artwork resources, including artwork coordination and design execution functions.
  • Manages workload planning, resource allocation, performance management, capability building, and career development to support organizational goals.
Budget & Continuous Improvement
  • Owns budgets related to packaging artwork operations, including external agencies, contract resources, and supporting partners.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance operating models to support growing business complexity and volume.
Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Graphic Communications,Project Management, or relatedtechnicalfield.
  • 8+ years of experience in packaging artwork, packaging operations, print production, creative operations, or related functions within beauty, personal care, consumer products, or CPG industries.
  • Experience managing artwork development from concept handoff through production release.
  • Strong understanding of packaging print processes, artwork management systems, color approval processes, and packaging specifications.

Salary Range: $125,000 USD - $135,000 USD
