Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Government Relations Manager to lead policy and strategy implementation within a designated area. You will guide a team of government relations professionals to ensure ethical and effective engagement with government agencies.

You will oversee planning of events, monitor political trends, and develop the company’s position on legislation at the federal and state levels, while maintaining compliance with corporate policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years in a PAC position of responsibility.
• Corporate PAC experience.
• Experience working on a campaign or for an elected official.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of the political process and campaign finance laws.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proven success in managing PAC programs and grassroots initiatives.
• Experience with PAC management software.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

The Opportunity

This position is onsite and works out of our Abbott Park, IL location.

Main Purpose of the Role

Manages teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation in protecting the organization's business interests with short-term operational/tactical responsibilities. Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of government relations professionals to ensure that all the organization's dealings with government agencies are conducted ethically, legally, and according to the organization's policies and standards.

• Oversees the monitoring of current political trends and supports development of relationships with government representatives.

Basic Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 3-5 years in a PAC position of responsibility
• Corporate PAC Experience
• Experience working on a campaign or for an elected official

• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of the political process and campaign finance laws

The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
