Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Senior Manager – Operations to lead a customer-centered, multi-location distribution operation. You will oversee order fulfilment, shipping, inventory, and KPI performance while managing a diverse team across locations.

The role requires driving Lean improvements, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with Sales and other departments to align with market strategies. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 7+ years’ operations experience in distribution center facilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Experience managing a group or team of individual contributors and/or indirectly supervising staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in group and individual settings.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with urgency.
  • Ability to travel 0–25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the location(s) to include accurate on time order fulfillment and shipping, on time receiving, manage working capital and inventory and quality management systems.
  • Oversees multiple locations and warehouse systems; ensures alignment with market strategy and customer expectations.
  • Maintains a safe, secure and inclusive workplace.
  • Coaches, mentors, hires and trains employees, including performance management.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and audit standards (e.g. ISO 9000).
  • Manages expense-based P&L to plan and drives Lean efficiencies.
  • Maintains facility readiness and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborates with sales and other support departments and budgets for the facility.

Job Description

As a Senior Manager – Operations you will manage multiple priorities in a customer-centered environment. While leading a diverse group of team members, which can include Operations Associates, Drivers and Administrative Coordinators, you will interact with other internal departments such as Sales in addition to external customer support and interactions. You will provide exceptional customer service through order fulfilment and problem resolution. You will oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain and improve service quality.

We are a 24‑hour/5‑day operation, and as our Senior Manager, you will work core, flexible hours to support the business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Manages all aspects of the location(s) to include accurate on time order fulfillment and shipping, on time receiving, manage working capital (as relates to Operations) inventory and quality management systems.
  • Management responsibility of a location or locations that could include multiple warehouse management systems, multiple location oversight, and/or multifaceted customer value added services.
  • Maintains a safe, secure and inclusive workplace.
  • Manages, coaches, mentors, hires and trains employees. This also includes performance management.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and audit standards (e.g. internal controls, ISO 9000).
  • Manages expense-based profit and loss statement (P&L) to plan.
  • Drives efficiencies within the facility using LEAN methodologies.
  • Maintains facility tour‑ready standards.
  • Ensures preventative maintenance on the facility and on all equipment (e.g. material handling equipment, wire cutting machines, racking systems, warehouse infrastructure).
  • Matches facility capacities to customer/sales professionals’ expectations. Work with sales professionals and leadership to ensure alignment with market strategy and accurately set customer expectations.
  • Work with other support departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources and Finance.
  • Actively engaged in developing annual budgets for the facility.
Qualifications
  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 7+ years’ operations experience, specifically in distribution center facilities preferred.

Compensation
  • Compensation Details $108,479 – $146,447 Annually

Compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
