Job summary

Elbit America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager Operations to oversee multiple manufacturing programs with accountability for schedule, budget, and quality.

You will supervise production teams across assembly and precision components, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. You will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, prepare senior-management presentations, and coordinate with engineering and operations to optimize capacity and cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years of functional experience may substitute.
  • 5+ years of functional experience.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Preference for union environment.
  • Six Sigma / CORE Process Improvement.
  • APQP & Lean Manufacturing.
  • ESD, Safety Training, Manager Tool Kit within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the functional team to meet production schedules and quality within cost.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Prepare proposals with profit projections and risk analyses.
  • Interface with customer representatives on program matters.
  • Identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
  • Drive cross-functional CI projects and quality standards.

Job Summary: The Senior Manager Operations will have full program and supervisory responsibilities for multiple, small-to-medium size programs or a major subset of a larger program conducted under limited supervision of a Director. Hold financial accountability for the program and maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring the manufacture of quality products delivered within budget and on or ahead of schedule. Supervise production operations and personnel for the assembly or precision components, subassemblies, complex parts or finished goods based on established methods and prints involving a variety of specialized techniques, equipment and skills. Ensure positive communication and employee relations and the consistent application of company policies.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Under limited supervision of a Director, lead the functional team(s) supporting assigned program(s) to achieve production and customer schedules and the manufacture of quality products within cost and schedule requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Prepare proposals including profit projections, risk analysis and risk avoidance recommendations. Prepares transition and production plan schedules, manpower requirements and staffing plans.
  • Secondary interface with customer or customer representatives on program matters. Effectively communicates program status, negotiate issues and maintain positive relations.
  • Proactively identify problems, their root cause and recommend (or identify and lead team to recommend) suitable solution(s) to management. Drive the implementation of improvements to remedy issues.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects in Continuous Improvement manufacturing and appropriate quality standards/certifications.
  • Regularly provide constructive, verbal and written, performance feedback. Proactively correct performance deficiencies using the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process through all the required steps.
  • Supervise the timely and accurate reporting of labor and production data. Monitor labor and expense budgets and institute necessary cost controls to meet company's profit goal on assigned programs.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations to senior management and external representatives.
  • Commitment to Business Units for on-time deliveries, at established cost & quality standards.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and disseminate budgets for Product Line, HPU Budgets as well as Support Budgets.
  • Manage Budgets and develop recovery plan for variance.
  • Identify cost and schedule impacts and coordinate recovery activities.
  • Coordinate activities with Support Engineering/Industrial Engineering & Operations Directors to determine capacity/equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate activities with Production Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering) to prepare BOE's and present to Director of Manufacturing for approval.
  • Update Monthly Program Scorecards and open action item list.
  • Ensure a Safe working area for all employees.
  • Perform Labor Administrative Requirements for Represented Staff members on IPT.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director
  • Determine priorities in conjunction with customer requirements and Master Schedule.
Education, Experience, License, or Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, 4 years of functional experience may substitute
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • 5+ years of functional experience
  • 3-5 years of management experience is required
  • Preferred experience:
    • Union environment
    • Six Sigma / CORE Process Improvement
    • APQP & Lean Manufacturing
  • Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position).
    • ESD.
    • Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department.
    • Manager Tool Kit.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to manage non-exempt personnel.
  • Accomplished Supervision Skills.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, defense industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Ability to resolve manufacturing problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven Leadership skills.
  • Excellent team forming skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with all management levels in the company in a Matrix organization.
Travel/Physical Requirements:
  • Approximately up to 10% travel time may be required.
