Job summary

The Greater Nebraska Schools Hiring Consortium seeks a Senior Manager of School Improvement and Support in Champaign, IL. This leadership role focuses on district-wide instructional improvement, MTSS implementation, and school supports.

You will lead professional learning, analyze student achievement data, coordinate multiple initiatives, and partner with principals and district staff to accelerate equity and excellence across Champaign Unit 4 Schools.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in education including instructional leadership.
  • Ability to use data to diagnose needs and plan improvements.
  • Knowledge of MTSS and Tier I instruction.
  • Experience with school improvement planning and progress monitoring.
  • Experience delivering professional learning to educators.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Preferred: Illinois PEL or admin endorsement.
  • Preferred: principal/assistant principal experience.
  • Preferred: ISBE/ESSA knowledge.
  • Preferred: coaching principals and leaders.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, School Administration, or a related field. (required)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful professional experience in education, including progressively responsible experience in instructional leadership, school improvement, campus leadership, district support, or a closely related area. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience using student achievement, instructional, and implementation data to identify needs, diagnose problems of practice, and develop improvement strategies. (required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high-quality Tier I/core instruction and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). (required)
  • Experience supporting school improvement planning, implementation, and progress monitoring, including needs assessment and continuous-improvement processes. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering professional learning, presentations, workshops, or leadership development for educators and/or school leaders. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders, timelines, and deadlines. (required)
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. (required)
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and/or appropriate administrative endorsement. (preferred)
  • Successful experience as a principal, assistant principal, instructional leader, school improvement leader, district administrator, or comparable educational leadership role. (preferred)
  • Experience with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) accountability requirements, federal ESSA requirements, school designations, and school improvement processes. (preferred)
  • Experience supporting schools identified for Comprehensive, Targeted, or other state/federal improvement and/or schools demonstrating significant academic or organizational improvement needs. (preferred)
  • Experience coaching and developing principals, assistant principals, instructional leadership teams, or other school leaders. (preferred)
  • Experience conducting instructional learning walks; facilitating data reviews, root‑cause analysis, and continuous‑improvement cycles; and strengthening MTSS systems. (preferred)
  • Experience managing or supporting special programs, grants, strategic initiatives, or districtwide projects in diverse school communities. (preferred)
Compensation
  • The entry level base salary for this position in SY26 is $150,000, plus highly competitive benefits, including 100% Board‑paid TRS/IMRF contributions and 100% Board‑paid employee‑only health, dental, and term life insurance. There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance. Additional compensation above the base is offered to candidates based on their number of years of successful administrative experience.
