The Pittsburgh Steelers are seeking a Senior Manager of Advanced Analytics to drive value from the fan data warehouse and elevate analytics across the organization. This onsite role combines technical leadership with hands-on analytics to deliver a large volume of strategic projects.

You will lead a team, build models, and partner with multiple departments to translate insights into actions while ensuring privacy compliance and data governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required; graduate degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of analytics experience; sports experience preferred.
  • Experience building statistical models and applying ML/AI to business problems.
  • Strong SQL, data warehouse understanding, and relational design knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Python or R and dashboarding in Tableau or similar.

  • Provide insights across ticketing, sponsorship, fan marketing, finance and stadium operations.
  • Lead ML/AI initiatives and analytics team to drive business outcomes.
  • Enhance marketing tech and automated omni-channel campaigns.

  • Measure fan sentiment from surveys and social data; report results.
  • Collaborate with NFL programs and ensure privacy compliance.

Job description

Reporting to the Head of Business Analytics, the Senior Manager of Advanced Analytics will be responsible for driving value from the team’s fan data warehouse. This person will play an important role in elevating the work of the analytics department and delivering improved business outcomes for the entire organization. This role requires someone with both technical and managerial skills, capable of leading a team of analysts and associates. This person will be expected to deliver on a large volume of projects and drive the department forward.

**This is an onsite position with regular weekly office hours M-F.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide insights to all internal departments that lead to data driven decision making (ticketing, sponsorship, Pro Shop, fan marketing, content, international, PR, finance and stadium operations)

  • Act as an organizational leader in machine learning and AI. Understanding where it is appropriate to utilize this technology to drive efficiencies and improved business outcomes
  • Apply modeling and data science solutions to business problems
  • Enhance marketing technology capabilities by ensuring usage of the latest tools and by building automated omni channel campaigns
  • Responsible for marketing audience creation and segmentation including reporting on results and refinement over time
  • Own the entire data ecosystem, which consists of the centralized fan data warehouse and all upstream and downstream connections
  • Improve the ticketing CRM system by introducing automation and supplementing records with data directly from the team data warehouse
  • Lead effort to measure fan sentiment, which includes analyzing fan surveys, social media and other sources
  • Contribute to analysis of all digital and social content and channels
  • Work directly with the NFL on the United View of the Fan program
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies and data privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, etc.)
  • Manage a team of data analysts and associates

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:* Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or related field. Graduate degree is a plus

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics (sports experience preferred)
  • Previous experience building statistical models
  • Previous project work utilizing machine learning/AI
  • Strong knowledge of data warehouses
  • Understanding of relational database schema design
  • Experience with segmentation and journey mapping software (Adobe preferred)
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Proficient building dashboards in Tableau or similar tool
  • Prior experience with Ticketmaster is preferred
  • Must possess problem-solving capabilities to discover, address and resolve issues
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for many different organizational departments
  • Must be hands‑on and capable of managing a team (prior management experience preferred)
  • Ability to manage external vendors
  • Independent worker with close attention to detail
  • Authorized to work in the United States
