Job summary

Amgen seeks a Senior Manager, Service Contractor Safety to lead the development and governance of a comprehensive contractor safety program across multiple sites and service categories. You will partner with operations, facilities and engineering to control risk, improve safety performance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

You will oversee safety metrics, scorecards, and training, and use data analytics to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline experience.
• Master's degree and 6 years of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline experience
• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline experience
• Associates degree and 10 years of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline experience
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline experience
• 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, projects, or programs

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of the Service Contractor Safety Program.
• Provide technical guidance and influence safety decisions across sites and service categories.
• Oversee contractor safety inspections, audits, and performance reviews.
• Ensure effective permit-to-work and control-of-work processes for high-risk contracted work.
• Escalate incidents following the SOP and drive corrective actions.
• Develop governance processes with metrics, scorecards, and action tracking.
• Sponsor technology and data analytics to improve contractor safety management.
