Position Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Merchandising Services Projects is responsible for leading the team that plans merchandising transitions within Home Depot stores. They are responsible for managing the time, scope, and budget of in-store projects, leading a team of direct reports and cross-functional partners to deliver projects at a high quality, at the designated time, and with appropriate funding secured. They partner closely with the departmental MVPs and merchants to understand, prioritize, and deliver upon their strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 25% Partner with Merchant group and other cross-functional partners to determine project priorities and ensure alignment
  • 25% Lead project scope, timing, and funding discussions with Merchants and cross-functional partners for each assigned merchandising department
  • 20% Perform end-to-end portfolio and project management, including scope, schedule, and budget control (i.e. dollars, hours, etc.).
  • 20% Associate development, recruiting, performance management, etc.
  • 10% Maintains timeline, quality, and fiscal control of projects. Provides metrics, measurement, evaluation and reporting
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
  • This position reports to the Director of Merch Services Projects
  • This position has 3 direct reports
Travel Requirements:
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • People management experience
  • PMP certification
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word
Minimum Education:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
  • 8
