Shield AI in the United States is seeking a Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering to lead the team responsible for all mechanical design, thermal management, and EWIS for the X-BAT aircraft and ground vehicles. You will set the technical vision, hire top engineers, and partner with other team leads to deliver programs from concept through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience around electronics and electrical systems.
• Experience with CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar) for 3D modeling, drawings, and system layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design for all mechanical, thermal, and EWIS elements of ground and flight avionics on the X-BAT program.
• Grow and manage a small team of thermal, mechanical, and EWIS engineers with leads and sub-managers.
• Demonstrate hands-on design experience in the past to set what is right for the organization.
• Develop standards and processes for thermal and mechanical engineering of critical avionics hardware.
• Collaborate with electrical, RF, PCB design, reliability, supply chain, structures, and manufacturing to drive full product delivery.
• Own the team’s output of complex electro-mechanical solutions for flight-critical avionics systems in harsh environments.
