Located in Holland MI, our client develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and modules for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications.

Lead the material management and meeting the requirements in a safe a timely manner. This position is responsible for driving world class manufacturing performance by developing a talented workforce through planning, coordinating and executing its material and logistic processes. You will monitor material flow from raw to finished goods and related materials/products to ensure accurate, targeted volumes are produced at the highest quality and lowest cost while providing support to the production floor and removing obstacles to their success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading a team of direct reports and departmental associates
  • Hiring, training and career succession of team members
  • Developing KPIs and performance reviews and conflict management
  • Create and manage departmental fiscal budget
  • Develop and execute department training in conjunction with the training coordinator
  • Review and approve all work instructions
  • Track and manage all receiving operations in warehouse storage, physical inventory and transferring of materials throughout the facility
  • Track and manage out-going logistics (transportation between facilities - FIFO)
  • All offsite warehouse management
  • Maintain a high level of cooperation with the QA teams.
  • Storage of finished goods
  • Managing all equipment inventory including trucks and pallets and other material resources
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree, MBA or MS preferred or equivalent
  • 10 to 15+ years of related experience, preferably in automotive industry
  • 7 to 10+ years of experience leading and managing multiple processes
  • Subject matter expert on warehouse policies and processes and raw materials
  • Lean Six Sigma certificate preferred (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • APEX training - preferred
  • Organizational agility and results-oriented
  • Committed to continuous improvement through empowerment and management by data
  • Effective team building and diversity management
  • Goal-oriented and motivated to achieve results through teams
  • Lean 6 sigma/Manufacturing Prioritizing and Multi-tasking
