Job description

Position Summary

Our role as marketers is to inspire customers to consider Walmart as a destination for Back to College (and Sporting Goods when relevant). This position will lead Walmart’s Back to College cross-category campaign, aiming to change perceptions of Walmart, attract new Gen Z customers, and drive loyalty among existing shoppers. You will collaborate with retail, site merchandising, creative teams, and media channels to create and execute marketing plans for this strategic season. Additionally, you will advocate for Sports, Fun & Fitness, and Sporting Goods in ongoing media efforts.

The ideal candidate has experience in cross-category marketing strategy, brief development, and campaign execution. This role requires a strategic thinker and an executional powerhouse capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Back to College presents a significant opportunity for growth, making this a high-impact role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead College Campaign: Oversee end-to-end efforts to drive consideration and conversion across categories. Develop seasonal strategies and briefs, approve creative concepts, and manage media plan execution.
  • Represent Campaign: Present to senior leadership, including the CMO, with updates on performance and strategies.
  • Sporting Goods Partnerships: Collaborate with merchants and channel partners to promote categories, prioritize initiatives, and negotiate placements.
  • Support broader strategic marketing campaigns as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 3 years' experience in marketing OR 7 years' experience in marketing or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading cross-functional projects, supervisory experience, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration are preferred.
