Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Manager for Manufacturing Technical Operations to oversee quality-event management for cell and gene therapy manufacturing in Boston. The role requires mentoring staff, strategic oversight of complex quality programs, and collaboration with cross-functional partners to ensure inspection readiness and timely closure of quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or related technical field.
• 6+ years biopharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, or process engineering experience.
• 2+ years staff mentoring, supervising, or management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with trend evaluation capability.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with GMP investigations, CAPAs, deviations, and change controls preferred.
