The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations to our Offsite Manufacturing division in Spokane, WA. The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations leads all day-to-day operations of assigned locations and value streams, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality production of modular products that meet schedules and customer requirements. This role sets the operational direction for assigned value streams, drives continuous improvement across people, processes, and systems, and manages value stream performance to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. • Champion a zero-incident safety culture through rigorous compliance programs, regular floor walks, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-through. Lead all value stream operations – production scheduling, workforce management, safety, quality, and maintenance – to consistently meet output, cost, and delivery targets. Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Own assigned value stream delivery schedule, quality, safety, and cost targets, partnering with other teams on budget development, labor planning, and variance analysis to protect and improve value stream margins.
  • Drive continuous improvement by deploying lean and kaizen methodologies, reducing waste, shortening cycle times, and improving first-pass quality across all production lines.
  • Build, coach, and hold accountable a high-performing manufacturing team, ensuring staffing levels, skill development, and succession plans align with business growth
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • Demonstrated experience managing safety programs and achieving measurable reductions in TRIR.
  • Strong financial acumen: cost variance analysis, capital planning, P&L management a plus.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MES systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
