Job summary

Riverpoint Medical in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Sr Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to oversee and optimize manufacturing processes ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will lead a team of process and manufacturing engineers and collaborate with other departments to drive improvements.

The role emphasizes Lean Six Sigma, capital equipment management, and collaboration with new product development to introduce equipment and processes while meeting IQ/OQ/PQ quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • 5–7 years’ experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in process optimization techniques, such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and guiding lean transformations.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment and sterilization.
  • Experience with statistical analysis of data (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience with technical documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ, SOPs, test protocols).
  • Ability to translate high level objectives into tactical plans and execute.
  • Experience leading design of experiments and data analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Experience supporting customer audits (FDA, GMED).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing and process engineers, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Champion operational excellence with cross‑functional teams including NPD, production, quality, and supply chain.
  • Lead company-wide Operational Excellence project planning; coach lean transformation teams.
  • Manage capital equipment planning, purchasing and vendor deliveries.
  • Develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Provide daily production support to set up, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor processes.
  • Collaborate with NPD to introduce new equipment and processes; ensure IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Manage and optimize manufacturing costs by monitoring budgets and data analysis.
  • Ensure a safe working environment; enforce safety protocols.
  • Maintain records and generate reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Lead and support process projects from initiation to completion on time and within budget.
